Source: https://kitty.build/help/what-is-kitty-build Last updated: 2026-08-30 kitty.build is an AI co-founder with one unusual quality: she will tell you your idea is bad. Feed her a business idea in one sentence. Nine specialist boards research it live on the web, argue with each other where they disagree, and come back with a single decisive verdict and a 0–100 opportunity score. It takes about twenty minutes. If the idea deserves killing, she kills it — that is the product working, not failing. ## The nine boards Seven boards research in parallel, one synthesizes, and one calls it: | Board | What it owns | | --- | --- | | Market & Opportunity | Is there a market, and is it reachable | | Competitor Analysis | Who already does this, and how well | | Financial Model | The numbers, and whether they survive contact | | Legal & Compliance | What you are not allowed to do | | Go-To-Market | The first hundred customers | | Marketing Strategy | The angle and the message | | Risk Register | What kills this in month four | | Advisor Synthesis | Reconciles the seven | | Executive Verdict | Assigns the score and the verdict | Every board is required to cite its material claims and to label estimates as estimates. An empty box beats an invented number — that rule is in the prompt, not just the marketing. ## What happens after a verdict An idea that survives becomes a venture you can actually run from kitty: brand, a generated website, todos, OKRs, metrics, GTM, a CRM, a support inbox, and a 24/7 engine that does the safe work itself and reports what it did with evidence. Publishing, spending and outreach always wait for your approval. Two rules the product holds itself to, and which explain a lot of its behaviour: - **Failed work costs nothing.** [Treats](https://kitty.build/help/how-treats-work) are charged only after a job delivers something. A run that dies leaves no charge behind. - **Nothing is invented.** The morning report is written from a factual ledger of what ran, and the support answerer refuses to answer from anything but your own published docs. ## Where to go next - [Create your account](https://kitty.build/help/create-your-account) and run your first idea - [Get your first verdict](https://kitty.build/help/get-your-first-verdict) — what it costs and how to read it - [Try kitty without an account](https://kitty.build/help/try-kitty-without-an-account) if you want to kick the tyres first - The [Nine Lives Doctrine](https://kitty.build/doctrine) — the honesty rules the whole product operates by ## Frequently asked **Is the first idea really free?** Yes. A new workspace gets a one-time grant of 100 Treats, and a full nine-board validation costs 80. No card is required to sign up. **Does kitty write code for my idea?** She generates a website for the venture, and produces a downloadable build kit — a full doc set plus a starter scaffold aimed at Claude Code — that you or a developer build from. She is not a hosted app builder. --- # Create your account and add your first venture Source: https://kitty.build/help/create-your-account Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Sign up Go to [https://kitty.build/signup](https://kitty.build/signup). Three fields: **Name**, **Email** and **Password** (at least 8 characters). The button is **Create account**. You do not need a card, and you do not need to confirm your email before using the app — a confirmation link is sent, but it never blocks you. If you arrived from the home page with an idea already typed in, you will see a first read from Ledger, the finance board, beside the form while you sign up. ## Add your first venture New workspaces land on the dashboard. Adding something to it is the **Add to your portfolio** page at [https://kitty.build/new](https://kitty.build/new), which offers two different things: **Analyze an idea** — one textarea, one sentence. Something like "Hair salon on wheels in Miami" is enough. Two buttons: - **Analyze only** — the nine boards research it and come back with a cited verdict. - **Fast launch** — brand, a live site and first posts in minutes, with the deep analysis running behind it. **Existing business** — for something you already operate. Fields are **Business name**, **Location / market**, **Industry** and **Lifecycle stage**, plus an optional starter template. The button is **Add business**. This path skips validation and goes straight to the operating modules: todos, OKRs, metrics, GTM, CRM. ## The intake step Creating an idea venture drops you into **Quick intake** rather than straight into analysis. Kitty asks a few questions to ground the boards in your actual situation — budget, timeline, what you already have. You can answer them or skip them; the button **Run the analysis** is available either way. Answering makes the verdict sharper, because the boards are reasoning about your circumstances instead of a generic founder's. ## Confirm your email when you get a moment The confirmation link works once and expires after 24 hours. If it lapses, open [Settings → Profile](https://kitty.build/settings) and use **Send a confirmation link** — you can send yourself five per hour. Next: [get your first verdict](https://kitty.build/help/get-your-first-verdict). ## Frequently asked **Do I have to confirm my email before I can use kitty?** No. Confirmation is sent but never gates sign-in — blocking first use behind an inbox round-trip is deliberate product policy here. Confirm it when convenient. **Can I add a business I already run, rather than an idea?** Yes — pick **Existing business** on the Add to your portfolio page. It skips validation and opens the operating modules directly. --- # Get your first verdict Source: https://kitty.build/help/get-your-first-verdict Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Starting one There are four ways in, and they all run the same nine boards: - **Run the analysis** at the end of the Quick intake chat, right after you create a venture. - **Convene the nine** on a venture's Analysis tab. The empty state reads "No verdict yet". - **Fast launch** on the [Add to your portfolio](https://kitty.build/new) page, which runs the analysis behind the launch pipeline. - The MCP tool `start_analysis`, if you have [connected an assistant](https://kitty.build/help/connect-kitty-to-claude-or-cursor). Only one analysis runs per venture at a time; starting a second while one is in flight is refused. ## What it costs and how long it takes A full nine-board deep analysis costs **80 Treats**. A new workspace starts with 100, so the first one is covered with room to spare. It takes roughly twenty minutes. The seven research boards run in parallel with live web search, then the advisor reconciles them, then the executive board writes the verdict. **You are only charged if a verdict lands.** Treats are debited after the executive synthesis succeeds. A failed run sets the venture back to `failed` and costs nothing — see [how Treats work](https://kitty.build/help/how-treats-work). ## Reading what comes back The verdict is one of exactly four values: - **GO** — build it - **PIVOT** — the market is real, this shape of it isn't - **CAUTION** — possible, with named conditions - **NO-GO** — don't Alongside it: an **opportunity score** from 0 to 100, an ocean type (red, blue or purple), a one-line thesis, a recommended price, a market-size summary, break-even months, startup cost, three top moves and three top risks. The written report runs in fixed sections: Verdict · What this business really is · The opportunity · The numbers · The competition & your edge · The path in · Legal & setup · The risks · The play. One thing worth knowing: the score is **assigned by the executive board from the evidence**, not computed as an average of board scores. It is a judgement, made under an explicit instruction to stay consistent with what the research actually found. ## If you disagree You can re-run a single board for 10 Treats rather than paying for the whole analysis again — useful when one board clearly worked from a wrong assumption. And if the verdict is a NO-GO you can publish it to [the Killed Club](https://kitty.build/killed) with the **Share** button in the venture header. That is the bravest thing on the site, and it is opt-in only. ## Frequently asked **How long does an analysis take?** About twenty minutes. The seven research boards run in parallel, then two more run in sequence on top of their output. **What if the analysis fails halfway?** It costs you nothing. Treats are debited only after the executive board delivers a verdict, and a held reservation on a failed job is swept within 15 minutes. **Can I run the same idea twice?** Yes, and each full run costs 80 Treats. If only one board got it wrong, re-running that single board costs 10. --- # Try kitty without an account Source: https://kitty.build/help/try-kitty-without-an-account Last updated: 2026-08-30 A fair amount of kitty works with no account at all. ## The free tools Seven tools at [https://kitty.build/tools](https://kitty.build/tools). Four are pure calculators that run entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to us, and they are free forever: - TAM / SAM / SOM Calculator - MRR & Runway Calculator - Pricing Page Grader - Kill-or-Continue Quiz Three call the AI engine, which costs us real inference, so they are capped per day per network: | Tool | Runs per day | | --- | --- | | Idea Validator | 3 | | Landing Page Roast | 3 | | Startup Name & Domain Checker | 20 | Running the same input twice inside six hours is served from cache and does not consume one of your runs. ## What the free tools are not The Idea Validator gives you one pass reasoning from your sentence — no research, no sources. The full nine-board run puts specialist boards on it with live web search and citations. That difference is the whole product, and it is why the free version gives a real answer rather than a teaser. ## Playbooks Ten standard operating procedures at [https://kitty.build/playbooks](https://kitty.build/playbooks) — numbered steps for decisions solo founders usually make alone, each with the relevant free tool embedded at the step where you need it. Validate a SaaS idea in 7 days, kill a failing venture without sunk-cost bias, set your first price, size a market with no research budget, get your first 10 paying customers, and others. ## Read real verdicts - [https://kitty.build/verdicts](https://kitty.build/verdicts) — the public library of verdicts founders chose to publish - [https://kitty.build/killed](https://kitty.build/killed) — the Killed Club: ideas that got a NO-GO and were published anyway - [https://kitty.build/how-to](https://kitty.build/how-to) — step-by-step founder workflows ## When you're ready Signing up is free and needs no card, and the one-time grant of 100 Treats covers a full nine-board validation (80) with change left for a website. [Create an account](https://kitty.build/help/create-your-account). --- # Download your build kit Source: https://kitty.build/help/download-your-starter-kit Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Where it is Open a venture, stay on the **Overview** tab, and find the **Claude Code starter kit** panel at the top. The button is **Generate starter kit** — it becomes **Regenerate** once one exists. When it finishes you get a **Download .zip** link with the file size beside it, and a line telling you how many files are in the package. The same artifact is also offered on the dashboard as a card whose button reads **Generate build kit**. Two labels, one thing — don't generate it twice looking for a difference. ## What's in the zip | File | What it is | | --- | --- | | `BUILD_PROMPT.md` | The prompt to open the build with | | `CLAUDE.md` | Standing instructions for the coding agent | | `PRD.md` | Product requirements, from the venture's own analysis | | `ARCHITECTURE.md` | The intended shape of the system | | `DATA_MODEL.md` | Entities and relationships | | `API_CONTRACTS.md` | The interfaces to build against | | `ROADMAP.md` | Sequenced milestones | | `README.md`, `.env.example`, `.gitignore`, `package.json`, `src/` | A runnable starter scaffold | Unless the venture's template says otherwise, the scaffold assumes Next.js 14 (App Router) with TypeScript, Tailwind, Prisma and PostgreSQL. ## How to use it Unzip it, open the folder in Claude Code (or any coding agent), and paste `BUILD_PROMPT.md` as your first message. The docs are written to be read by the agent, not skimmed by you — `CLAUDE.md` in particular is there so the agent keeps making the same decisions on day nine that it made on day one. ## The expiry that catches people **The download archive is kept for 7 days.** After that the link stops working and you regenerate — which is free and fast, and picks up anything that has changed in the venture since. Download the zip when you generate it rather than bookmarking the link. The kit is included on every plan, the free one included. ## Frequently asked **Does generating a build kit cost Treats?** No. It is assembled from what the venture already knows — there is no priced job behind it. **My download link stopped working.** Archives are kept for 7 days. Open the venture's Overview tab and hit **Regenerate** for a fresh one. --- # How verdicts work, and why kitty says no Source: https://kitty.build/help/how-verdicts-work Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## The process Nine boards, in three stages. Seven research boards run in parallel — market, competitor, finance, legal, GTM, marketing, risk — each with live web search and each required to cite material claims and to mark estimates as estimates. The advisor board then reconciles the seven, including where they disagree. Finally the executive board reads everything and writes the verdict. ## Where the score comes from The **opportunity score** (0–100) is assigned by the executive board, working from the assembled evidence. It is not a weighted average of board scores, and there is no formula to reverse-engineer. The board is explicitly instructed to keep score and verdict consistent with the evidence — not to rate a brutal red-ocean idea a 90, and not to rate a strong one a 40. This is worth knowing because it tells you how to argue with a score you think is wrong: point at evidence, not at arithmetic. Re-running a single board with better inputs will move the verdict; nothing else will. ## The four verdicts - **GO** — the evidence supports building it - **PIVOT** — there's a real market here, but not in the shape you proposed - **CAUTION** — viable under conditions the report names explicitly - **NO-GO** — the evidence says don't ## Why a NO-GO is the point The stated enemy of this product is the six months you spend building something the market had already answered. A killed idea is not a failure, it is a life handed back. Ledger — the finance board — kills more ideas than the other eight combined, and he is not sorry. This is also why the guarantee is phrased the way it is: kill one bad idea or you don't pay. See [refunds](https://kitty.build/help/refunds-and-the-guarantee). ## Publishing a verdict The **Share** button in the venture header publishes the verdict and copies the link. Sharing is entirely opt-in and off by default. Published NO-GOs appear in [the Killed Club](https://kitty.build/killed), whose membership is earned one dead idea at a time. Published verdicts of any kind appear in the [verdict library](https://kitty.build/verdicts). Nothing is published without you clicking that button. ## Frequently asked **Can I appeal a verdict?** Re-run the board you think got it wrong — that costs 10 Treats rather than a full 80. Fresh intake answers change what the boards reason from. **Is my idea public by default?** No. Ventures and verdicts are private until you press **Share** in the venture header. --- # Ask your board of advisors Source: https://kitty.build/help/ask-the-advisors Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Where it is Open a venture and pick the **Advisor** tab. The panel is headed **Personal Board of Advisors**. ## Who you can ask Eleven advisors, each modelled on a public business philosophy: Alex Hormozi (offers & scale), Dan Martell (systems & SaaS), Russell Brunson (funnels), Gary Vaynerchuk (attention), Naval Ravikant (leverage), Jeff Bezos (customer & ops), Elon Musk (first principles), Peter Thiel (contrarian moat), Paul Graham (startup craft), Jensen Huang (tech bets), Richard Branson (brand & culture). Or **Ask the board** and put the question to all of them at once, which is the right move for a decision where you expect disagreement. **These are not the real people.** Each persona is an AI advisor inspired by a public figure's published frameworks and communication style. They do not represent those people, they carry no endorsement, and they are instructed never to fabricate direct quotes. ## What they actually read This is the part that makes the answers useful. Before responding, an advisor is given that one venture's real state: - The venture facts: lifecycle stage, kind, location, industry, the original idea, the verdict and score - Your intake answers - The dashboard summary from the analysis - Todos, issues, next steps - GTM channels and funnel, metrics (last 60), OKRs - Notes and the content calendar - Every completed board report from the analysis So "what should I do this week?" is answered against your actual todo list and metrics, not against a generic startup. ## What they can't read Documents you have marked **sensitive** are excluded from advisor context — deliberately, and enforced in the query rather than in the prompt. If you want an advisor to reason about a contract, copy the non-sensitive parts into a note. Advisors also only ever see **one venture**. They cannot compare two of your ventures in a single conversation. ## Fair use Advisor messages are included in your plan rather than priced per message, with a monthly fair-use ceiling sized so ordinary use never reaches it. If you do hit it, the message says exactly which plan's ceiling you hit and what it is. See [plans and limits](https://kitty.build/help/plans-and-limits). ## Frequently asked **Am I really talking to Naval Ravikant?** No. Every persona is an AI advisor inspired by the public frameworks and style of the named figure. It does not represent them, implies no endorsement, and will not invent quotes from them. **Do advisor messages cost Treats?** No. Advisor chat is included in your plan, bounded by a monthly fair-use ceiling rather than metered per message. --- # The morning report, and deciding things from your inbox Source: https://kitty.build/help/morning-report-and-email-actions Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## What arrives If your ventures are on a plan with the engine, kitty emails you once a day. The subject reads *"Morning report: Kitty worked overnight 🐾"*, with *"— your call on a few things"* appended when something is waiting on you. The report is structured: a two-sentence bottom line, then **What ran**, **What it means**, **Your call** (only when something awaits approval) and **What I need from you** (up to three of your own open tasks). Two things it deliberately does not do. It is written from a factual ledger of what actually ran, under an instruction to use only that ledger, state failures plainly and invent no numbers. And **if nothing ran and nothing needs deciding, no email is sent** — there is no daily nothing-happened mail. Failures never get their own alert email either; the bad news arrives inside the report and in the app, honestly, rather than as a panic message at 3am. ## Deciding from the email Gated work comes with **[Approve & execute]** and **[Reject]** links. Your own open tasks come with **[I did it — send the evidence]**. Those links are HMAC-signed tokens that pin the task, the decision and your user id, and **they expire after 7 days**. Clicking one never acts immediately — it opens a confirmation page with a button, because mail scanners routinely prefetch every link in an email and a prefetch must not approve your spend. Pressing the button on that page is what acts. Clicking twice is safe: the task is claimed atomically and the second click is told it was already handled. The evidence form refuses to accept nothing. Submit it empty and it says so: empty means not done. Evidence it cannot verify is recorded as *done, unverified* — the ledger records what you said and never upgrades it. ## Turning it off Be precise here, because there are three different switches and only one of them is the one you want. - **The per-venture switch is the real one.** Open the venture → **Engine** tab → **Settings** → the **Autonomy** card → uncheck **Run the organic engine**. No cycles, no report for that venture. - **The unsubscribe link at the bottom of lifecycle emails stops lifecycle emails only.** It does not stop reports from your own ventures, and the unsubscribe page says so. - There is **no email-preferences toggle in Settings** today. If you want one, say so — it gets built when someone asks. While you're in that Autonomy card, note the second checkbox: **Publish without asking me**. It is off by default, which means generated posts wait as drafts until you approve them. ## Who gets reports at all Only ventures that are validated or further along, not archived, in a workspace on a plan where the engine runs. The free plan has no engine, so free workspaces get no morning reports. ## Frequently asked **Can I turn off the morning report without turning off the engine?** Not today — the report and the engine share one switch per venture, and there is no per-user notification preference yet. Email us if you want one; that is how it gets prioritised. **An approve link says it's invalid or expired.** Those links last 7 days. Decide it in the app instead: open the venture's Engine tab, where the same approvals are waiting. **Does the daily engine cycle cost Treats?** The scheduled daily cycle is included. An extra cycle you trigger yourself with **Run a cycle now** costs 6 — see the price table in [how Treats work](https://kitty.build/help/how-treats-work). --- # How Treats work Source: https://kitty.build/help/how-treats-work Last updated: 2026-08-30 Treats are the single buyer-facing meter. They pay for the heavy AI jobs — deep analyses, site builds, articles, videos. Everything else, including the 24/7 engine's daily cycle, advisor chat and publishing, is included in your plan. ## What each job costs | Job | Treats | | --- | --- | | Full 9-board validation of an idea | 80 | | Re-run a single board | 10 | | On-demand business review | 10 | | Generate or regenerate a website | 10 | | Build a feature (AI edit, deploy, repo push) | 10 | | Write an SEO article | 20 | | Publish one social post | 2 | | An extra engine cycle (“run now”) | 6 | | A founder asset (business plan, outreach pack, names…) | 6 | | AI task plan | 4 | | Voice brain dump → tasks and notes | 4 | | One Scout research pass | 8 | | Draft a newsletter broadcast | 4 | | Compose a role (JD + application form) | 6 | | Screen one application | 4 | | Keyword-gap research → article brief | 6 | | Monthly finance review | 10 | | The weekly operating report | 6 | ## What is deliberately free Not "free for now" — free because charging for it would be charging you rent on your own work: - **The daily scheduled engine cycle.** Only extra cycles you trigger yourself are priced. - **Sending email.** Charging per email would punish you for having an audience. Only the model work — the research pass, the draft, the screen — is metered. - **Reading your own data through a connector.** Pulling an Airtable base, a form, a Figma file or a deployment status is plain I/O and costs nothing. Sourcing prospects from Apollo is the one exception, because it burns a vendor's credits. - **Lifecycle event webhooks.** Notifying you costs you nothing. - **Publishing a website, republishing it, and the build kit.** ## Failed work costs nothing This is enforced, not promised. Starting a heavy job places a *hold* on the Treats it will cost. The hold turns into a real charge only when the job delivers an artifact. If the job dies, the hold is swept and the Treats come back. One honest detail: they come back **within 15 minutes**, not instantly. The sweep runs when a balance is next read. ## Your allowance - A new workspace gets a one-time grant of **100 Treats** — enough for a full validation (80) plus a website (10). - Paid plans grant Treats monthly, on your billing anchor date rather than the 1st of the month. - **Annual subscribers get 20% bonus Treats** on every monthly grant. ## Rollover Unused granted Treats carry over for one month, capped at one monthly allotment. So on a plan granting 150, your balance can sit at 300 but not climb past it. **Treats you bought are exempt** from that cap and do not expire while your account is open. Spending draws down granted Treats first, so your purchased ones are the last to go. ## When you run out The job is refused with a message naming the exact numbers: *"This needs N Treats and this workspace has M. Top up or upgrade to continue."* A dialog headed **The bowl is empty** offers **See plans & upgrade**. Scheduled social posts behave better than that: they are parked for about an hour rather than failed, so a top-up rescues them. Note that Treats stop being granted while a subscription is past due, even though your access continues through Stripe's retry schedule. ## Treats are not money They have no cash value, are not currency or stored value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be transferred outside your workspace. Costs can change; the cost of a job is always shown before you spend on it. ## Frequently asked **Do unused Treats expire?** Granted ones carry one month, capped at a single monthly allotment. Treats you purchased as a top-up never expire while the account is open, and are spent last. **A job failed — was I charged?** No. The reservation is swept within 15 minutes and the balance returns. Charges only settle once a job delivers. **Can I see what something costs before running it?** Yes. The cost is shown in the app before you spend, and the full table is above. --- # Plans, and what's in them Source: https://kitty.build/help/plans-and-limits Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## The plans | Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Ventures | Treats | 24/7 engine | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | **Free** | Free | — | 1 | 100 once | No | | **Spark** | $20/mo | $200/yr | 1 | 150/mo | Yes | | **Portfolio** | $79/mo | $790/yr | 5 | 1,000/mo | Yes | | **Studio** | $199/mo | $1,990/yr | 15 | 3,000/mo | Yes | | **Fund** | $990/mo | $9,900/yr | 50 | 15,000/mo | Yes | | **Pause** | $9/mo | $90/yr | 50 | none | No | Annual billing is pay for 10 months, get 12 — and it carries 20% bonus Treats on every monthly grant. **Pause** is the parking tier: your data, sites and receipts are kept and the weekly brief keeps arriving, but the engine and heavy AI jobs are off. One click brings everything back. ## Fair-use ceilings Besides Treats, each plan carries monthly ceilings on light usage — deep analyses, advisor messages, AI generations. These exist to stop abuse, and are sized so ordinary operating never touches them. If you hit one, the message names the plan, the exact ceiling and what to do: > This workspace hit the *Portfolio* plan's fair-use ceiling of 30 deep analyses this month. Upgrade, or contact support if this is legitimate use. That last clause is meant literally. If you are using kitty hard and legitimately, email us rather than upgrading out of frustration. The analysis ceiling is checked *before* any Treats are reserved, so a refused run never leaves a hold behind. ## Billing is per workspace The plan belongs to the workspace, not to you personally. Everyone in the workspace shares its ventures, Treats and limits. Only **owners and admins** can change the plan; other members see *"The plan is shared by everyone in this workspace — ask an owner or admin to change it."* ## Hitting the venture cap Creating a venture beyond your plan's count is refused with the plan name and the number. Archiving a venture frees a slot — the cap counts active ventures only. ## In the mobile app Plans, top-ups and payment details cannot be started or changed inside the iOS and Android builds — Apple's rules. Manage them at [https://kitty.build](https://kitty.build) in a browser. ## Frequently asked **Which plan do I need for the 24/7 engine?** Any paid plan except Pause. The free plan has no engine, which also means no morning reports. **What counts against the venture limit?** Active, non-archived ventures. Archiving one frees a slot immediately. **Can a member change the plan?** No. Billing actions require the owner or admin role in that workspace. --- # Upgrade, downgrade or cancel your plan Source: https://kitty.build/help/upgrade-downgrade-or-cancel Last updated: 2026-08-30 All of this lives in [Settings → Plan & billing](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=billing), and all of it needs the owner or admin role. ## Upgrading From the billing panel, **Change plan** or **Compare plans** takes you to [https://kitty.build/upgrade](https://kitty.build/upgrade), headed *"Upgrade your plan"*. Toggle **Monthly** / **Annual**, then press **Start **. If you have no subscription yet, that opens Stripe Checkout. **If you already subscribe, it does not** — the price is changed in place on your existing subscription, prorated, and any pending cancellation is cleared. There is no second checkout and no gap in service. Upgrading mid-cycle grants the new plan's Treats allotment immediately. ## Downgrading Same path, pick the smaller plan. Prorated the same way. ## Pausing instead of cancelling Worth knowing before you cancel: **Pause instead** keeps every venture, site and receipt, and keeps the weekly brief coming, with the engine and heavy AI jobs switched off. Reactivating is one click and rebuilds nothing. ## Cancelling **Settings → Plan & billing → Cancel plan.** A dialog headed *"Cancel your plan"* offers to keep you (once), then sends you to the Stripe billing portal where you confirm once. Deliberate design worth stating plainly: there is one retention step, the cancel button is never disabled, no reason is required, and there is no phone call, no email and no waiting on us. Cancellation takes effect **at the end of your paid period** — no pro-rating of the remainder. After that your ventures stay, read-only. Nothing is deleted, and resubscribing picks up exactly where you left off. If you would rather cancel by email, that works too: info@foundergem.com. ## On a bundle rather than a plan If your workspace came in through a [bundle](https://kitty.build/help/bundles), plan switching is blocked with *"This workspace is on a bundle. Manage or cancel it in the billing portal before changing plan."* Use **Manage billing** to open Stripe. ## A note on refunds Cancelling and refunding are different things. If not one verdict changed what you did next, you can claim a full refund any time in your first 90 days — see [refunds and the guarantee](https://kitty.build/help/refunds-and-the-guarantee). ## Frequently asked **Will I be charged twice when I switch plans?** No. An existing subscription changes price in place with proration rather than going through checkout again. **What happens to my ventures if I cancel?** They stay, read-only, after the paid period ends. Nothing is deleted and resubscribing restores access exactly as it was. **Can I cancel in the mobile app?** No — purchase and plan management are not available inside the app builds. Do it at https://kitty.build in a browser. --- # Buy more Treats Source: https://kitty.build/help/buy-more-treats Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## The packs [Settings → Plan & billing](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=billing) has the top-up buttons, labelled with what they give you: | Top-up | Treats | Price | | --- | --- | --- | | Pack 1 | 300 | $25 | | Pack 2 | 1,200 | $80 | They are one-time payments, not a subscription, and they are granted the moment Stripe confirms the payment. ## Why buy rather than upgrade Two different problems: - **A one-off heavy month** — a burst of analyses, a batch of articles. Top up. - **Every month looks like this now** — upgrade. Top-ups are deliberately priced so that living permanently on them is never cheaper than the subscription Treats they back up. ## Purchased Treats behave better They are exempt from the monthly rollover cap and **do not expire** while your account is open. Spending draws down your granted Treats first, so what you paid for is always the last to go. ## When you're out mid-job The refusal message tells you the exact shortfall — how many Treats the job needs and how many the workspace has. A dialog headed **The bowl is empty** offers **See plans & upgrade**. Scheduled social posts are the exception: they are parked for about an hour rather than failed, so topping up promptly rescues them without any work from you. ## Buying needs admin Top-ups are a billing action, so you need the owner or admin role in the workspace. They are also unavailable inside the iOS and Android app builds — buy at [https://kitty.build](https://kitty.build) in a browser. ## Refunds on top-ups Top-ups are separate purchases from the subscription guarantee. Email info@foundergem.com and any pack whose Treats you have not spent will be refunded. ## Frequently asked **Do top-up Treats expire?** No, not while your account is open. They also sit outside the monthly rollover cap, and are always spent after your granted ones. **Can I get a refund on a top-up?** Yes, for any pack whose Treats you haven't spent. Email info@foundergem.com. --- # Bundles: kitty plus the other tools Source: https://kitty.build/help/bundles Last updated: 2026-08-30 A bundle is one subscription across several products. See them all at [https://kitty.build/bundles](https://kitty.build/bundles). Each bundle grants a kitty plan alongside the other tools, so the plan's venture count and monthly Treats follow from which bundle you are on. **Bundles do not add Treats on top of that.** ## After you buy Checkout lands you on the fulfillment page, which provisions each product independently. That independence is the point: if one tool's setup fails, the others still complete, and you can retry the failed one safely — nothing gets double-charged or double-created. Some products in the family are set up by hand. Those show **Manual setup — we'll email you** rather than pretending to be instant. ## If you already pay for a kitty plan The rule is simple and in your favour: **your entitlements are the better of the two.** A bundle never quietly downgrades a plan you already pay for, and it never takes over the subscription your card is actually being charged on. So Spark plus a bundle granting Portfolio gives you Portfolio. Fund plus the same bundle keeps you on Fund. One consequence to know: while your workspace is on a bundle, the in-app plan switcher is blocked with *"This workspace is on a bundle. Manage or cancel it in the billing portal before changing plan."* Use **Manage billing** in [Settings → Plan & billing](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=billing). ## Cancelling a bundle Cancelling revokes what the bundle granted. If you also have a plan subscription of your own, that keeps running untouched. ## Frequently asked **Does a bundle give me extra Treats on top of my plan?** No. A bundle grants a plan, and that plan's monthly allotment is what you get. If you already hold a better plan, you keep the better one. **Part of my bundle failed to set up.** Retry it from the fulfillment page. Each product provisions independently and idempotently — retrying cannot double-charge or double-create anything. --- # Refunds and the Nine Lives Guarantee Source: https://kitty.build/help/refunds-and-the-guarantee Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## The guarantee Kill one bad idea — or you don't pay. If not one verdict changed what you did next — killed an idea, forced a pivot, or greenlit a bet you had been sitting on — you can claim a full refund **any time in your first 90 days**, counted from your first payment. There is no waiting period. Day 1 and day 90 are equally valid; you never have to wait the window out to ask. ## How to claim Email **info@foundergem.com** with the word *refund*. That is the whole process. We return every cent you have paid, to the original payment method via Stripe. No form, no retention call, no clawback — and you keep every report the boards produced. There is no self-serve refund button in the app, on purpose: a refund is executed by a person against your actual payment history. ## Top-ups are separate [Top-up packs](https://kitty.build/help/buy-more-treats) are one-off purchases rather than part of the subscription guarantee. Email us and we will refund any pack whose Treats you have not spent. ## Refunding is not the same as cancelling Cancelling stops future billing at the end of your paid period. Refunding returns money already paid. You can do either, or both — see [upgrade, downgrade or cancel](https://kitty.build/help/upgrade-downgrade-or-cancel). If a top-up is refunded, the Treats it granted are reversed automatically. ## Please don't chargeback A payment dispute suspends the workspace immediately and automatically, and getting it back needs a human on both sides. Emailing us is faster than your bank, and we do not argue about this guarantee. ## Closing your account Unused Treats are forfeited when an account is closed, except where this guarantee applies. See [closing your account](https://kitty.build/help/close-your-account). ## Frequently asked **Do I have to wait out the 90 days before claiming?** No. There is no waiting period — day 3 and day 90 are equally valid. **Do I lose my reports if I take the refund?** No. You keep every report the boards produced. **Is there a form to fill in?** No. One email to info@foundergem.com with the word refund is the entire process. --- # Find your invoices and update your card Source: https://kitty.build/help/invoices-and-receipts Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Opening the portal [Settings → Plan & billing](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=billing). - If you subscribe, the button is **Manage billing**. - If you don't subscribe but have paid us before (a top-up, say), it reads **Invoices & payment method**. Either opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can switch plan, update your card, download invoices, or cancel. It returns you to your settings when you close it. If you have never paid us anything, the panel says *"Payment methods and invoices appear here once you subscribe."* — there is nothing to show yet, which is the honest answer rather than an empty portal. ## Who can open it Billing is per workspace and the portal needs the **owner or admin** role. Members see a note telling them to ask an owner or admin. ## Subscriptions versus top-ups Subscription payments produce invoices in the portal. **Top-up packs are one-time payments and produce a payment receipt rather than an invoice.** If you need a formal invoice for a top-up, email info@foundergem.com and we will sort it out. ## Not in the app Payment details cannot be managed inside the iOS or Android builds. Open [https://kitty.build](https://kitty.build) in a browser. ## Rate limit Billing actions are limited to a handful per minute per workspace. If you get *"Too many billing requests — give it a minute and try again"*, that is all it means — wait a minute. ## Frequently asked **Where do I add a VAT number or company address?** In the Stripe billing portal, opened with **Manage billing**. Stripe owns your billing details, not kitty. **I can't see the billing section.** It needs the owner or admin role in that workspace. Ask an owner to open it or to change your role. --- # Invite teammates and set their roles Source: https://kitty.build/help/invite-your-team Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Sending an invite [Settings → Workspace](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=workspace), then the **Invite to this workspace** card — visible only to owners and admins. Type their email, pick a role, press **Invite**. Three things can happen: - **They already have a kitty account** — they are added to the workspace immediately and no email is sent. You will see *"they're in the workspace now"*. - **They're new and mail is configured** — an invite email goes out, and a copyable link is shown as well in case you would rather send it yourself. - **Mail isn't configured on this deployment** — nothing is sent, and you are given the link to pass on. The invite email is subject *" invited you to on Kitty"* and **the link expires in 7 days**, single use. Pending invites are listed with their expiry and a trash button to revoke. ## The four roles | Can they… | viewer | member | admin | owner | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | See the member list | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | | See ventures | Only their own and ones granted to them | Same | All | All | | Read a venture's data | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Create a venture | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Run analyses, chat, edit | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Delete a venture | No | No | Yes | Yes | | Set connector credentials | No | No | Yes | Yes | | Invite people, change roles | No | No | Yes | Yes | | Billing and plan changes | No | No | Yes | Yes | | Grant the owner role | No | No | No | Yes | Two rules that surprise people: - **Whoever creates a venture effectively owns it**, whatever their workspace role. - **The last owner cannot be removed or demoted.** Promote someone else first. ## Changing a role or removing someone Same page, the **Members** card. Owners and admins get a role dropdown on each row (not on their own). Removal is the trash icon at the end of the row; on your own row it becomes a leave icon instead. Only an owner can hand out the owner role — an admin trying gets told so explicitly. ## Accepting an invite The invited person lands on a page headed **Accept your invite**, fills in **Name** and **Password** (at least 8 characters) and presses **Join kitty.build**. If the invited address already has an account, they are told to sign in and ask an admin to add them instead — which is what the immediate-add path above does anyway. ## What a workspace shares Everything: ventures, the plan, Treats, and the limits. Billing belongs to the workspace, not to a person. See [plans and limits](https://kitty.build/help/plans-and-limits). ## Frequently asked **How long does an invite last?** 7 days, and it can only be used once. Revoke and re-send from Settings → Workspace if it lapses. **Can a member see everyone's ventures?** No. Members see only ventures they created or were specifically granted. Admins and owners see all of them. **I'm the only owner and I want to leave.** Promote someone else to owner first — the last owner is deliberately protected from removal and demotion. --- # Turn on two-factor authentication Source: https://kitty.build/help/enable-two-factor-authentication Last updated: 2026-08-30 Two-factor authentication is available to **every account on every plan**, free included. ## Turning it on [Settings → Security](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=security) → the **Two-factor authentication** card → **Enable 2FA**. 1. **Scan with your authenticator app.** A QR code appears; if your app can't scan, the base32 key is printed underneath to enter by hand. The account shows up as `kitty.build`. 2. **Enter the 6-digit code** your app shows. 3. Press **Verify & enable**. A wrong code says so and lets you retry. Any TOTP app works — 1Password, Bitwarden, Authy, Google Authenticator. Codes are accepted with about 30 seconds of clock tolerance either side. ## Save your recovery codes — properly You are shown **ten recovery codes** in a dialog headed *"Save your recovery codes"*. Each works once. Use **Copy all** and put them somewhere that is not the phone holding your authenticator. Read this part carefully, because it is the difference between an inconvenience and losing your account: - **They are shown once and never again.** - **There is no way to regenerate them** without turning 2FA off and on again (which needs your password and a working second factor). - **If you lose both your authenticator and your codes, there is no self-serve recovery path.** A password reset does not clear 2FA. So: copy them now, into your password manager, before you close that dialog. ## Signing in afterwards After your password you land on a page headed **Two-factor authentication**. Enter the code, or click **Use a recovery code** and enter one of your ten. Eight failed attempts locks the attempt for 15 minutes. ## Turning it off Same card, **Disable 2FA**, confirmed with your password. This wipes the secret and all remaining recovery codes. Re-enabling issues a fresh set of ten — which is, today, the only way to rotate them. ## API keys and 2FA Worth knowing if you use [MCP or the API](https://kitty.build/help/connect-kitty-to-claude-or-cursor): a bearer API key satisfies no 2FA challenge, and cannot be used to mint more keys. Keys act as you for data access, not for privilege escalation. ## Frequently asked **Can I get new recovery codes without disabling 2FA?** Not today. Disabling and re-enabling 2FA issues a fresh set of ten; there is no separate regenerate button. **I lost my phone and my recovery codes.** There is no self-serve path back, and a password reset does not clear 2FA. Email info@foundergem.com — recovery is a manual, identity-checked operation and we cannot promise a turnaround. **Is 2FA only on the bigger plans?** No. It is available on every account on every plan, including free. --- # Reset your password or get back in Source: https://kitty.build/help/reset-your-password Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## If you're locked out Go to [https://kitty.build/forgot-password](https://kitty.build/forgot-password) and press **Email me a reset link**. You will always see *"Check your inbox — if that address has an account, a reset link is on its way."* That message appears whether or not the address exists; it is deliberate, so nobody can use the form to discover who has an account. **The link works once and expires in an hour.** Nothing after a few minutes? Check spam, then try again. The email is subject *"Reset your kitty.build password"* with a link reading **Choose a new password**. ## Setting the new one At least 8 characters. Two things happen that you should know about: - **Every other session is signed out.** Anyone who had access no longer does — which is exactly what you want if a reset is a response to something suspicious. - **Your email address is marked confirmed**, since you just proved you can read that inbox. ## Two-factor is not affected A password reset does **not** turn off two-factor authentication. If you have 2FA on, you will still be asked for a code after signing in with the new password. If you have lost that second factor too, see [two-factor authentication](https://kitty.build/help/enable-two-factor-authentication) — there is no self-serve path, and it needs a human. ## Rate limits you might hit - Reset requests: 5 per hour per address, 20 per hour per network, then *"Too many reset requests — try again later"*. - Sign-in attempts: 8 failures locks that email-and-network pair for 15 minutes. If you hit the sign-in lockout, waiting is genuinely the fix — there is nothing to unlock on our side. ## Changing your password while signed in [Settings → Security](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=security) → **Password** card. Current password, new password, confirm. Changing it signs out every other device, and tells you how many sessions it ended. ## Seeing where you're signed in Same page, the **Active sessions** card lists every signed-in device, marks the current one, and offers **Revoke** per row or **Sign out others** for all of them at once. ## If password resets aren't available Some deployments have no mail configured, in which case the page says so plainly and tells you to contact support. On kitty.build itself, mail is configured. ## Frequently asked **How long is a reset link valid?** One hour, and it works once. Requesting a new one invalidates the previous outstanding link. **Does resetting my password disable two-factor?** No. You will still be asked for your authenticator code or a recovery code afterwards. **I never got the email.** Check spam first. The confirmation message is shown for unknown addresses too, so also confirm you used the address you actually signed up with. --- # Change or confirm your email address Source: https://kitty.build/help/change-your-email Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Changing it [Settings → Profile](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=profile) → edit the **Email** field → **Save changes**. As soon as you edit the address, a **Confirm your password** field appears. It is required, and the note beside it says why: *"Changing your email signs out your other sessions, and the new address needs confirming before it counts."* Three things happen on save: 1. Your other sessions are revoked (the one you're using stays). 2. A confirmation email goes to the **new** address. 3. Your account is marked unconfirmed until you click that link. If the new address already belongs to an account, you get *"That email is already in use."* ## Confirming The email is subject *"Confirm your email for kitty.build"* with a link reading **Confirm this email address**. It works once and expires after 24 hours. Signing in still works while unconfirmed — confirmation is not a gate on using kitty. ## Resending the link The Profile page shows *"This address hasn't been confirmed yet"* with an inline **Send a confirmation link**. You can send **5 per hour**; past that you are told to check your inbox and try again later. If a link expired, just send a fresh one — old outstanding links are invalidated when a new one is issued. ## A shortcut worth knowing Completing a [password reset](https://kitty.build/help/reset-your-password) also marks your email confirmed, since you demonstrably read that inbox. ## Changing where kitty emails you Your account email is where account mail and [morning reports](https://kitty.build/help/morning-report-and-email-actions) go. There is no separate notification address today. ## Frequently asked **Can I use kitty before confirming my email?** Yes. Confirmation is never a gate on signing in or using the product. **The confirmation link expired.** Send a fresh one from Settings → Profile. Links last 24 hours and work once. --- # How your data is protected Source: https://kitty.build/help/how-your-data-is-protected Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Encryption Connector credentials, two-factor secrets and documents are encrypted at rest with **AES-256-GCM**. Tampered data fails to decrypt rather than returning something wrong. Passwords are hashed with scrypt using a unique salt per password and compared in constant time. They are never stored recoverably — which is why a lost password is reset, never retrieved. ## Connector credentials A credential you paste for Stripe, GitHub, Airtable or anything else is encrypted before storage, used **server-side only**, and never returned to the browser or written to logs. After saving, it is never shown again. Only workspace admins can set them, and a key can be scoped to a single venture, the workspace, or you personally, with the most specific winning. ## Sessions The session cookie is httpOnly, sameSite lax, and secure in production — it cannot be read by JavaScript. Sessions last 30 days, and the token is rotated when you complete two-factor. You can see and revoke every active session in [Settings → Security](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=security). ## What the AI can read Advisors and the engine read that one venture's own modules: todos, GTM, metrics, OKRs, notes, documents and prior board analysis. **Documents marked sensitive are excluded from AI context.** That exclusion is enforced in the database query, not requested in a prompt, and a sensitive document also cannot be published to a venture's public help pages. ## Access between ventures and workspaces Access is checked per venture on every request. A venture you have no access to returns "not found" rather than "forbidden" — deliberately, so the API cannot be used to discover what exists. ## Two honest limitations We would rather tell you these than have you discover them at the wrong moment: - **There is no one-click data export in the app today.** What you own outright is your GitHub repo, your domain and your published site. If you need your kitty data extracted, email info@foundergem.com and we will do it by hand. - **Closing your account disables it rather than erasing it.** See [closing your account](https://kitty.build/help/close-your-account) for exactly what that means and how to request real deletion. ## Audit trail Sensitive actions — invites, role changes, two-factor changes, sign-ins and failures, password resets, account closure — are written to an audit log. That log is currently readable by the instance operator rather than exposed to you in-app. Ask us and we will tell you what it holds about your account. Full detail lives in the [Privacy Policy](https://kitty.build/privacy) and [Terms](https://kitty.build/terms). ## Frequently asked **Can I export all my data?** Not with a button today — that does not exist and we would rather say so. Email info@foundergem.com and we will export it for you. **Does the AI read my private documents?** It reads the venture's documents except those marked sensitive, which are filtered out at the database query. Mark anything confidential as sensitive. **Where are my connector API keys stored?** Encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, used server-side only, never returned to the browser or logged, and never displayed again after you save them. --- # Close your account Source: https://kitty.build/help/close-your-account Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Cancel first if you're paying Closing an account is not the same as cancelling a subscription, and closing does not stop billing. If you pay us, [cancel the plan](https://kitty.build/help/upgrade-downgrade-or-cancel) first — and if you are inside your first 90 days, [claim the refund](https://kitty.build/help/refunds-and-the-guarantee) before you close, because you will need access to your email either way. ## Closing it [Settings → Profile](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=profile) → the **Close account** card at the bottom → **Close my account**. A dialog asks you to type your email and password to confirm. ## What it actually does — plainly It **disables** your account and signs you out everywhere. It blocks future sign-in. **It does not delete your data.** Your ventures are kept so that a workspace owner can reassign them, and no rows are erased. We would rather tell you that than let you believe "close" means "erase". If you are the last owner of a workspace, you cannot close your account until you promote someone else — the same protection that stops the last owner being removed by anyone else. ## If you want real deletion Email **info@foundergem.com** and ask for your account and data to be deleted. That is a manual operation performed by a person, and it is a genuine deletion, not a disable. ## What happens to your Treats Unused Treats are forfeited when an account is closed, except where the [Nine Lives Guarantee](https://kitty.build/help/refunds-and-the-guarantee) applies. If you are inside your first 90 days, claim the refund first. ## Reopening A closed account is disabled rather than gone, so a workspace owner can have it reopened. Email us. ## Just want out of one workspace? That is different and much simpler: [Settings → Workspace](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=workspace) → **Members** → the leave icon on your own row. You keep your account and any other workspaces. ## Frequently asked **Does closing my account delete my data?** No — it disables the account and signs you out everywhere, keeping the data so a workspace owner can reassign ventures. For actual deletion, email info@foundergem.com. **Does closing my account cancel my subscription?** No. Cancel the plan first, otherwise billing continues. --- # Generate and publish a venture's website Source: https://kitty.build/help/publish-your-venture-website Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Generating it Open a venture and pick the **Website** tab. The empty state is headed **Build this venture's website**. There is an optional brief box — *"waitlist-first launch page, calm/technical tone, mention the 14-day pilot…"* — and leaving it empty is fine: the site is written from the venture's analysis and brand profile either way. Press **Generate website**. It takes about a minute, runs in the background, and emails you when it lands. Generating or regenerating a site costs **10 Treats**. The signup grant of 100 covers a validation plus a site. ## Publishing it The toolbar button reads **Publish** the first time and **Republish** after that. A published site with newer edits shows an **unpublished changes** marker, so you always know whether what you're looking at is live. Two links sit beside it: - **Preview** — the newest revision, visible only to your team - The public URL — the published site, shareable with anyone **Publishing, republishing and refreshing SEO are free.** Only generation is metered. Publishing also bakes in the SEO assets: canonical tags, `sitemap.xml` and `robots.txt`. ## Editing after generation All on the same tab: - **Chat edits** — one instruction, one new revision. - **Click a section in the preview** and rewrite just that block. - **Revision history** — the dropdown lists every version; restore any of them. - **Code** view — browse the generated files read-only. - **Recipes** — deterministic, no-AI additions like a careers, help or legal page. Below the editor are cards for **SEO assets** (**Refresh SEO**), **Forms** (**Add a form**) and **Articles**. ## The badge Every page of every published site carries a small *Built with Kitty* link. It is injected at save time, so it survives model edits. ## Custom domains The Website tab has a **Custom domains** card. On kitty.build today this runs in sandbox: the card shows a banner telling you nothing is sent to Cloudflare and that any nameservers or records displayed are placeholders you should not enter at your registrar. Your site stays live on its kitty.build address in the meantime. **Do not repoint a real domain based on that card while the banner is showing.** When custom domains go live, this article gets the DNS steps and the banner disappears. Ask us if you need a domain attached before then. ## Frequently asked **Does publishing cost Treats?** No. Only generating or regenerating a site is metered, at 10. Publishing, republishing and SEO refreshes are free and unlimited. **Can I go back to an earlier version of the site?** Yes — the **Revision history…** dropdown on the Website tab lists every revision and restores any of them. **Can I edit the generated code directly?** The Code view is read-only. Change the site by asking in the chat, or by clicking a section in the preview and rewriting that block. --- # Collect leads, enquiries and subscribers from your site Source: https://kitty.build/help/forms-and-lead-capture Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Adding a form Venture → **Website** tab → the **Forms** card → **Add a form**. A new form defaults to a "Contact us" title, an email field, a **Send** button and the success message *"Thanks — we'll be in touch."* Field types available are text, email, tel, textarea and select. ## Where submissions go Pick one destination per form: | Destination | What happens | | --- | --- | | **Your CRM** | A contact is created (source: form) with an activity on their timeline. Enquiry-shaped forms also open a deal in the first pipeline stage. | | **Your support inbox** | It becomes a real support thread on the venture's Support tab, and the person is also filed into the CRM. | | **Your newsletter list** | They are subscribed to the venture's default audience. | | **Your own database** | The page posts directly to your Supabase project. It never touches kitty's servers. | Whether a form opens a deal is inferred from its title: quote, contact, enquiry, booking, demo, call, consultation, estimate, hire and order do; newsletter, subscribe, updates and mailing don't. ## Where you read them - **CRM** tab — contacts, companies and deals, with the submission on the timeline - **Support** tab — contact-form enquiries as threads - **Newsletter** tab — subscribers You are **not emailed** on each submission. Instead a `lead.captured` event fires, which triggers any webhook you have connected — see [automating with the API](https://kitty.build/help/automate-with-the-api-and-webhooks) if you want a Slack ping or a Zap. ## Spam protection Built in, nothing to configure: - A honeypot field hidden off-screen. A bot that fills it gets a normal success response — telling a bot it was caught only teaches it to avoid the trap next time. - Rate limits per network: 12 form submissions per 10 minutes, 20 newsletter signups per 10 minutes. - A 32KB body cap. - Responses are deliberately uniform: unknown form, duplicate contact and successfully filed all look identical from outside. One consequence of the honeypot: **you cannot name one of your own fields `company_website`** — it is reserved for the trap, and the builder will tell you to rename it. ## Unpublishing a form Delete the form and republish. The endpoint checks that the form is still present in the published site, so an old form's submissions stop being accepted the moment you republish without it. That is the withdrawal mechanism — the tokens themselves do not expire. ## Newsletter signups from a published site Newsletter forms are authenticated by the audience's own unguessable key, so a scraped form cannot be repointed at another venture's list. ## Frequently asked **Will I get an email when someone submits a form?** No. Submissions are filed into the CRM, support inbox or newsletter list, and a lead.captured event fires for any webhook you have connected. Use that if you want a notification. **Why can't I name a field company_website?** That exact name is the hidden spam trap on every form. Call it website instead. **How do I stop an old form from accepting submissions?** Delete it and republish the site. Acceptance is checked against the currently published files. --- # Answer your customers' support mail from your own help docs Source: https://kitty.build/help/answer-support-mail-from-your-help-docs Last updated: 2026-08-30 Your ventures get customer email too. Kitty can draft the replies — but only from facts you have published, and never sending on its own. ## Where it lives Venture → **Support** tab. The tab unlocks once the venture's offer is live; before that there is nobody to support. You get filters (Open / Drafts / Waiting / Closed / All), search, and a **Draft replies** button. ## The rule the whole feature exists to enforce The AI may answer **only** from help articles you wrote and published for that venture. It is instructed that those documents are the only facts it has, and told explicitly never to invent prices, refund windows, timelines, features or policies, and never to hedge with "typically" or "usually". A drafted answer that cites no source, or cites a document that does not exist, is rejected server-side and regenerated. A guessed answer sent to a real customer — an invented refund policy, a feature that does not exist — is the worst thing this product could do, and it is worse than silence. ## What happens when you press Draft replies Up to ten unanswered messages are processed. For each one: - **The docs cover it** → a reply is written as a **draft**, headed *"Waiting for your yes"*, with the articles it drew on named underneath. - **The docs don't cover it** → nothing is drafted. The message stays visibly open and a high-priority task appears on your todo list saying exactly what is missing: *"Your help docs don't cover this: …"*. Then you get a summary: *"Drafted N replies from your help docs; N questions the docs don't cover went to your tasks instead of being guessed at."* **Nothing is ever sent automatically.** A draft waits for you to press **Send**, and you can edit it first — editing the draft and sending replaces it. ## Writing the help articles Right now this is the rough edge, and here is the honest state of it: **there is no editor screen for venture help articles yet.** They are created through the API: ``` POST https://kitty.build/api/ventures//kb { "title": "Refund policy", "contentMd": "...", "isPublic": true } ``` Authenticate with an API key as described in [automating with the API](https://kitty.build/help/automate-with-the-api-and-webhooks). There is also `POST .../kb/suggest`, which reads your last 30 days of support mail and proposes up to five articles — with the questions that prompted each — writing nothing itself. If you want the editor screen, say so. That is how it gets prioritised. ## Where published articles appear On the venture's **own** website, not on kitty.build: a `help/` index page listing every published article, one page per article, styled with the site's own stylesheet, and a **Help** link added to the site nav. They go live at the next **Publish** — publishing an article does not deploy the site by itself. One safety rule: a document marked **sensitive** cannot be published. Copy the shareable parts into a new article instead. ## Response times The Support tab shows a median first-response time only once at least three conversations have been answered. Below that it shows a dash, because a median of two is not a number worth showing. ## Frequently asked **Will kitty email my customers without me seeing it?** No, never. Every reply is created as a draft and waits for you to send it. **What happens if my help docs don't answer the question?** Nothing is drafted. The message stays open and a high-priority task tells you precisely which fact is missing, so you can answer it and write the article. **How do I write help articles for my venture?** Through the API today — POST to /api/ventures//kb. There is no editor screen yet, and we would rather say so than describe a button that isn't there. --- # Connect kitty to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client Source: https://kitty.build/help/connect-kitty-to-claude-or-cursor Last updated: 2026-08-30 kitty exposes a remote Model Context Protocol server, so an assistant can operate your ventures instead of you copying text between tabs. ## Get an API key [Settings → Security](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=security) → **API keys (MCP)** → name it (something like "Claude Desktop") → **Create key**. The key starts `kitty_sk_` and is **shown once** — copy it immediately. You can hold up to 10 live keys, and revoke any of them from the same card. A key acts as you: same workspace, same venture access, same plan limits, same Treats. It cannot satisfy a two-factor challenge and cannot create more keys. ## Point your client at it Endpoint: `https://kitty.build/api/mcp`, authenticated with `Authorization: Bearer kitty_sk_...`. The transport is stateless Streamable HTTP and **POST only** — a client that opens with GET is told so rather than hanging. Full per-client setup, including config snippets for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and the Claude API, is on the [MCP setup guide](https://kitty.build/docs/mcp). It is the authoritative version and is kept in step with the server. ## What your assistant can do Eleven tools: | Tool | What it does | | --- | --- | | `list_ventures` | Every venture the key can reach | | `get_venture` | One venture in detail | | `create_venture` | Add a new one | | `start_analysis` | Convene the nine boards | | `get_analysis_status` | Poll a running analysis | | `get_board_report` | Read one board's research | | `get_portfolio` | The cross-venture view | | `ask_advisor` | Put a question to an advisor persona | | `manage_todos` | List, add or complete todos | | `add_note` | Write a note to a venture | | `get_credit_balance` | Your Treats balance | Analyses take about twenty minutes, so the pattern is `start_analysis` then poll `get_analysis_status` — don't hold a single call open. ## Costs and limits Jobs cost exactly what they cost in the app: a deep analysis is 80 Treats whether started by you or by your assistant. The endpoint is rate limited to 60 requests per minute per key. ## If it stops working - **401** — the key is wrong, revoked, or the header isn't `Authorization: Bearer kitty_sk_...` - **405** — your client is using GET; the server is POST-only - **429** — over 60 requests a minute; back off - **402** — out of Treats, see [how Treats work](https://kitty.build/help/how-treats-work) ## Frequently asked **Where do I get an API key?** Settings → Security → API keys (MCP) → **Create key**. It is displayed once, so copy it straight away. **I lost my key.** Keys cannot be recovered — that is the point. Revoke it from the same card and create a new one. **Does using MCP cost extra?** No. The same jobs cost the same Treats however they are started. --- # Automate kitty with the API and webhooks Source: https://kitty.build/help/automate-with-the-api-and-webhooks Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Authentication The same key as MCP. [Settings → Security](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=security) → **API keys (MCP)** → **Create key**, then: ``` Authorization: Bearer kitty_sk_your_key ``` Header only — never a query parameter. Rate limit: 120 requests per minute per key. ## The endpoints Base URL `https://kitty.build/api/v1`. | Method and path | What it does | | --- | --- | | `GET /me` | Connection test — returns the workspace and who the key acts as | | `GET /ventures` | Ventures this key may act on | | `GET /actions` | The catalogue of engine actions | | `POST /ventures/:id/actions/:key` | Invoke one action (accepts an `Idempotency-Key` header) | | `GET /ventures/:id/tasks/:taskId` | Poll a task, including one waiting for approval | | `GET /hooks` · `POST /hooks` · `DELETE /hooks/:id` | Manage webhook subscriptions | | `GET /events/sample?type=...` | Sample payloads, for building against | Start with `GET /me` — if that returns your workspace, the key is good. ## The approval gate holds Invoking an approval-gated action does not bypass approval. You get back `needs_approval` and a message telling you it is waiting for a human in the venture's approval queue, plus the task id to poll. Automation cannot make kitty publish, spend or send on its own — that is the design, not a limitation to work around. ## Webhooks Add them in [Settings → Connections](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=connections) → **Event webhooks** → **Add webhook**. Pick the platform (Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or a custom URL), paste the URL, and choose events — selecting none means all of them. Eight event types: `task.needs_approval` · `task.needs_founder` · `run.completed` · `milestone.reached` · `metric.synced` · `venture.status_changed` · `briefing.weekly` · `lead.captured` **Verify the signature.** Every delivery carries `X-Kitty-Signature: sha256=`, an HMAC-SHA256 of the raw request body using the secret shown once when you create the subscription. Compute it over the raw bytes, before any JSON parsing. A subscription that fails 10 times in a row is disabled automatically, so a dead endpoint does not retry forever. Firing an outbound automation costs a nominal 1 Treats. Receiving lifecycle event webhooks is free — charging you for a notification would punish you for connecting in the first place. ## What is not there Said plainly so you build against reality: **there is no Zapier app, no n8n community node and no Make custom app.** You connect using their generic webhook and HTTP-request blocks, which works fine and is what the event format is designed for. There is also no general read/write REST API over all venture data, and no polling endpoint for past events — webhooks are the delivery mechanism. If a packaged integration would make the difference for you, tell us; that demand is what would build it. ## Frequently asked **Is there a Zapier app for kitty?** No. Use Zapier's Webhooks by Zapier trigger and its custom HTTP request action — the API and event format are built for exactly that. **Can automation approve its own actions?** No. Approval-gated actions return needs_approval and wait for a human in the venture's approval queue. **How do I verify a webhook is really from kitty?** Recompute HMAC-SHA256 over the raw request body with your subscription secret and compare it to the X-Kitty-Signature header. --- # Connect Stripe, GitHub, Airtable and the rest Source: https://kitty.build/help/connect-your-tools Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## Connecting one [Settings → Connections](https://kitty.build/settings?tab=connections) → the **Connectors** card → search for the service → **Connect** → paste the credential → **Save key**. Once a key is stored, the button becomes **Replace**, and **Disconnect** removes it. Only workspace admins can set credentials. **Every connector uses a pasted credential.** There is no one-click OAuth flow anywhere — including Gmail and Google Drive, which need a Google OAuth client you create yourself and a JSON credential you paste. ## What each one unlocks | Connector | What it gives you | | --- | --- | | **Stripe** | Real revenue and MRR on the dashboard, and the CAC guardrail that needs them | | **Plausible / GA** | Real traffic in the metrics series instead of guesses | | **Email (ESP)** | Subscriber count in the metrics series | | **GitHub** | A real repo for the venture; generated site code is pushed to it | | **Supabase** | A database and auth backend without provisioning one yourself | | **Vercel** | Deployment status next to the venture — read-only | | **Zernio** | Posts actually publish, and ad spend syncs back into the numbers | | **HeyGen** | Avatar videos for organic posts, from the scripts kitty writes | | **Gmail / SMTP** | Mail goes out from your own address, so replies come back to you | | **Airtable** | Pulls a table into metrics and tasks; pushes the weekly brief back | | **Google Drive** | Exports briefs, board reports and documents into a venture folder | | **Figma** | The generated site matches the brand you already designed | | **JotForm** | Every submission becomes a tracked lead | | **Apollo** | The engine finds named prospects instead of asking you to | | **GoDaddy** | "Go find a domain" becomes a priced shortlist | | **Zapier / Make / n8n / Clay** | The engine fires one of your workflows when something happens | ## Honest limits worth knowing before you connect - **Vercel is read-only** — deployment status, not a deploy target. - **GoDaddy checks availability only** — it does not buy domains. - **Gmail is send-only** — kitty does not read your inbox. - **JotForm is the only connector that receives inbound webhooks.** ## What connectors cost Reading your own data — a base, a form, a Figma file, a deployment — is plain I/O and is **free**. Metering your own data would be charging you rent on it. The single exception is sourcing prospects from Apollo, which burns a vendor's credits and is priced accordingly. ## How credentials are stored Encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, used server-side only, never returned to the browser or logged, and never shown again after saving. A key can be scoped three ways, and the most specific wins: pinned to one venture, shared across the workspace, or personal to you. The status badge tells you which is in play — *Venture key in use*, *Workspace key in use*, *Your key in use* or *Not connected*. ## JotForm's webhook URL Once JotForm is connected, a **Webhook URL** panel appears. Choose a venture, copy the URL, and paste it into JotForm. **Treat that URL like a password** — anyone holding it can post submissions to that venture. It does not expire; you rotate it by disconnecting the connector and generating a new one. Deliveries are capped at 300 a minute per venture. ## Frequently asked **Is there a Connect with Google button?** No. Gmail and Google Drive need a Google OAuth client you create and a JSON credential you paste. There is no one-click flow for any connector. **Do connectors cost Treats?** Reading your own data is free. Sourcing prospects from Apollo is the one priced connector action, because it burns vendor credits. **Can kitty read my Gmail inbox?** No. The Gmail connector is send-only, so replies come back to your address rather than ours. --- # Use kitty on your phone Source: https://kitty.build/help/kitty-on-your-phone Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## The honest position **kitty is not in the App Store or on Google Play yet.** A native shell exists in the codebase and store listings are being prepared, but nothing is submitted and there is nothing to download. Anything claiming to be a kitty.build app in a store today is not ours. What does work, well, is installing the site as a home-screen app. ## Install it - **iPhone / iPad (Safari)** — open [https://kitty.build](https://kitty.build), tap **Share**, then **Add to Home Screen**. - **Android (Chrome)** — open [https://kitty.build](https://kitty.build), tap **⋮**, then **Install app**. You get an icon, a splash screen, and a standalone window with no browser chrome. ## What you get The same product. Not a cut-down companion — the mobile layout is built for it: a bottom tab bar, slide-over navigation, bottom-sheet dialogs, proper safe-area handling around notches, and inputs sized so iOS does not zoom when you focus them. There is no mobile-only or web-only feature. Because it is the site, improvements arrive the moment they ship, with nothing to update. ## What is different on mobile One thing, and it is a store-rules matter: **plans, top-ups and payment details cannot be managed from an installed app.** Open [https://kitty.build](https://kitty.build) in a normal browser tab for anything involving money. ## Notifications kitty can send web push, and offers a **Notify me** button where the browser supports it — at most one push a day: a new task for you, or one that has gone quiet. iOS only delivers web push to sites installed to the home screen, so install first, then allow notifications. The [morning report](https://kitty.build/help/morning-report-and-email-actions) arrives by email regardless of any of this. ## When the apps ship This article gets store links the day they exist. Until then, the home-screen install is the real answer rather than a workaround. ## Frequently asked **Is there a kitty.build app in the App Store?** Not yet. Install the site to your home screen instead — Share → Add to Home Screen on iOS, ⋮ → Install app on Android. **Why can't I upgrade inside the installed app?** App-store rules on digital purchases. Open https://kitty.build in a browser tab for anything involving payment. --- # Get paid for referring founders Source: https://kitty.build/help/the-partner-program Last updated: 2026-08-30 ## The offer **30% of a referred workspace's first billing period.** It is a one-time commission, not a recurring share — that matters, and it is better to know now than to discover it at payout. Only paid plans qualify. Free and Pause workspaces earn nothing. ## Joining There is nothing to join. **Every account is already a partner**: your link and your dashboard are at [https://kitty.build/partner](https://kitty.build/partner) the moment you have an account. No application, no approval queue, no minimum audience — and it is the same cash commission whether you are a paying customer or an outside promoter. Add your payout details (IBAN, account holder, tax ID) on the same page whenever you like; you only need them to withdraw, not to earn. ## How attribution works Your link is `https://kitty.build/r/YOURCODE`. Clicking it sets a cookie that lasts **30 days**. **First touch wins.** If a visitor already carries someone else's referral cookie, yours does not overwrite it. Visitor IPs are hashed, never stored raw. ## The hold, and why it exists A referral's clock starts at their **first payment**, not at the click, and commission is held for **90 days** — deliberately the same as the [refund window](https://kitty.build/help/refunds-and-the-guarantee). Paying out sooner would mean paying for customers who can still take a full, no-clawback refund. At the end of the hold, eligibility is re-checked. A referral who cancelled, downgraded to Free or Pause, or whose payment failed inside the window earns nothing. A cancellation **after** the window claws nothing back. ## Getting paid [https://kitty.build/partner](https://kitty.build/partner) shows **Clicks**, **Signed up**, **Paying** and **Earned**, plus **Available**, **Being paid out**, **Paid to date** and **In hold**. **Withdraw** opens a payout request. The minimum is **$50.00**, paid by bank transfer to an IBAN in your own name. Payouts are on request rather than on a schedule: a request moves the amount to pending immediately, and a rejected one returns the exact amount. Referral rows read: *Signed up*, *Paying — in hold*, *Qualified*, *Earned*, or *Didn't stick*. ## Self-referral Void, and checked at signup, at payment and again at reward time. Referring yourself under another email does not work. Full detail: [partner program terms](https://kitty.build/affiliate/terms). ## Frequently asked **Is the commission recurring?** No. It is 30% of the referred workspace's first billing period, paid once. **Why is my commission on hold?** Every commission is held 90 days from the referral's first payment — the same as the refund window, so we are not paying out on customers who can still take every cent back. **How much do I need before I can withdraw?** $50.00, paid by bank transfer to an account in your own name.
