Create your account and add your first venture

Signing up takes three fields and no card. Here's what happens next, and the difference between analysing an idea and registering a business you already run.

Go to https://kitty.build/signup. Three fields: Name, Email and Password (at least 8 characters). The button is Create account.

You do not need a card, and you do not need to confirm your email before using the app — a confirmation link is sent, but it never blocks you. If you arrived from the home page with an idea already typed in, you will see a first read from Ledger, the finance board, beside the form while you sign up.

Add your first venture

New workspaces land on the dashboard. Adding something to it is the Add to your portfolio page at https://kitty.build/new, which offers two different things:

Analyze an idea — one textarea, one sentence. Something like "Hair salon on wheels in Miami" is enough. Two buttons:

  • Analyze only — the nine boards research it and come back with a cited verdict.
  • Fast launch — brand, a live site and first posts in minutes, with the deep analysis running behind it.

Existing business — for something you already operate. Fields are Business name, Location / market, Industry and Lifecycle stage, plus an optional starter template. The button is Add business. This path skips validation and goes straight to the operating modules: todos, OKRs, metrics, GTM, CRM.

The intake step

Creating an idea venture drops you into Quick intake rather than straight into analysis. Kitty asks a few questions to ground the boards in your actual situation — budget, timeline, what you already have. You can answer them or skip them; the button Run the analysis is available either way. Answering makes the verdict sharper, because the boards are reasoning about your circumstances instead of a generic founder's.

Confirm your email when you get a moment

The confirmation link works once and expires after 24 hours. If it lapses, open Settings → Profile and use Send a confirmation link — you can send yourself five per hour.

Next: get your first verdict.

Frequently asked

Do I have to confirm my email before I can use kitty?
No. Confirmation is sent but never gates sign-in — blocking first use behind an inbox round-trip is deliberate product policy here. Confirm it when convenient.
Can I add a business I already run, rather than an idea?
Yes — pick **Existing business** on the Add to your portfolio page. It skips validation and opens the operating modules directly.
